ELIGIBILITY
For the organization -
• All advertising and marketing communication companies who are
registered as a Marketing Communications business in Sri Lanka.
• The organization submitting the entry/entries must complete a pre
specified accreditation form and obtain prior accreditation from the Sri Lanka Advertising Awards. A special committee will be set up for this purpose comprising the IAA, 4A’s, relevant representatives from The Chillies committees and The Chillies Trust.
For entries -
• The entry must be the original creation of the participating company.
• It should have been released for the first time between January 1,
2008 and December 31, 2008.
• For releases carried outside of the country, the place of release
must be stated and a letter from the media confirming release must be submitted.
• Any entries which are scam as defined in this document will not be accepted.
Note: Entries can be submitted only by a single agency. In the event of a joint endeavor, the agency responsible for the idea should submit the entry and the other implementing agency/s should be given credits appropriately.

Armed with an MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Diploma in Marketing from CIM-UK, Renuka decided to follow her mother (Co-founder of TAL and the Group’s Chairperson) Shiranee Rubera’s footsteps, starting at the bottom of the ladder in advertising as a Trainee Client Service Executive, some 20 years ago. Today she decisively steers TBWA\TAL and spearheads creative campaigns with the years of hands-on experience she has gained by personally handling blue chip accounts and global brands including Eagle Insurance, Etihad Airways, ICI Dulux, Keells, Prima, Standard Chartered Bank and Unilever. Renuka also serves on the board of the International Advertising Association (IAA), Sri Lanka Chapter.. .

Dusty Alahakoon

Dusty Alahakoon was a student of Trinity College Kandy. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK, in 1996 and he is a Member of CIM UK since 1996. Further, he has achieved the Chartered Marketer status in recognition of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
He completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 2002.

He has over 15 years work experience in diverse industries. He started his career in the pharmaceutical trade. In 1997 he joined as the Marketing Services Manager at United Tractors (Caterpillar). In 2000, he joined Ceylon Tobacco Company Ltd (member of British American Tobacco PLC) as the Research Manager and later became the Head of Brand Marketing.
In early 2006, he joined Coca-Cola as Head of Marketing, managing a diverse portfolio of beverage products.
He was a member of the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) in 1999/2000. He has been a lecturer for Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK Diploma since 1999 and currently lectures at NEXT School of Business. He also lectures for MBA degree programs at ICBT Campus.

Priyanga Hapugalle

Following a career in advertising and then Brand Management at Reckitt & Colman (Ceylon) Ltd, Priyanga ventured out to pioneer Direct Marketing in Sri Lanka in 1992, inspired by an article he read on One to One Marketing,. He set up the country’s largest marketing database as head of P B N Direct and conceptualized a highly successful DIY Direct Marketing tool, BUSINESS 5000 for B2B Marketers.
He holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and Journalism from the Open University of Sri Lanka. Priyanga is also the first Sri Lankan graduate from the CAM Foundation (UK) and the Institute of Direct Marketing (UK).

A recipient of a scholarship on mobile and e commerce to Japan, he was a finalist for the Marketer of the Year award from CIM, Sri Lanka Branch, for small businesses, for two consecutive years as well.
In recognition of his achievements and contribution to the advertising and marketing industry in the country, he was elected a Fellow of CIM. Priyanga is also a regular presenter and contributor on Direct Marketing to the business community, academia and media.
As CEO of Direct Solutions, he has set up and managed internationally acclaimed Customer Loyalty programs and also functions as a Board Director at Alethea International School.

Tharaka Ranwala

An old boy of D.S. Senanayake College, Tharaka worked at Metropolitan Computers and DFCC Bank before taking on the role of Head of Marketing at Sampath Bank in 2006.
A qualified Chartered Marketer of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) – UK with a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing, Tharaka earned the title Chartered Marketer, DIP M. (UK), MCIM. He has also been conferred by the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation the title of Certified Professional Marketer – Asia Pacific or CPM (ASIA PACIFIC). He is also currently in his final semester reading for his MBA at the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM).

Tharaka has also won several awards for outstanding performance and teamwork while at Sampath Bank.

With over 11 years experience in Advertising, Manufacturing and IT, Irfan’s key JWT clients are Dialog Telekom, Unilever, HSBC, GSK and Union Assurance. Currently, involved in driving digital communication strategy’s for JWT Sri Lanka and part of the JWT Asia Pacific Digital Acceleration Program, Irfan is also an integral part of the JWT brand strategy team with the key responsibility of establishing productive forums to drive “thought leadership” amongst the client and agency team.
